The California American Planning Association announced today that The Candlestick Point – Hunters Point Naval Shipyard Phase II EIR has been selected as the winner of the 2011 Hard-Won Victories Award. According to the association the award is for “a planning initiative or other planning effort undertaken by a community, neighborhood, citizens group, or jurisdiction in the face of difficult, challenging, or adverse conditions because of natural disasters, local circumstances, financial or organizational constraints, social factors or other causes. This award recognizes the positive effect of hard-won victories by professional planners, citizen planners, or both.”
